Municipal Utility – Southern California Switching Station – 2MW Solar Farm
Local HMI and SCADA Integration
- Designed and implemented SEL protective relays with integration into SEL RTAC and local HMI systems.
- Delivered operator and engineer training for utility staff on system operation and interface.
- Provided on-site commissioning support, including HMI validation and SCADA point-to-point verification with the central control center.
Substation Automation Program
- Supported engineering design efforts for over 189 new and retrofit substation automation projects across the utility’s service territory.
- Projects involved the deployment and upgrade of SEL protective relays, RTAC automation controllers, and local HMIs, all integrated with the centralized control center.
- Developed and reviewed relay protection schematics, wiring diagrams, and standardized communications architecture in coordination with utility engineering and field teams.
- Created and maintained point lists for both local HMI and SCADA integration, including template development and standardization.
- Assisted in the design and configuration of local substation HMI systems tailored to operational requirements.
- Provided on-site commissioning support and collaborated directly with utility personnel to ensure seamless system integration and data accuracy.
